🎉 Living the Dream: Pendennis at Falmouth Carnival 2025! 🎭

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Pendennis Community Centre is taking part in this year’s Falmouth Carnival, and we’re bringing our dream to life!

Under the theme “Living the Dream”, our marching parade entry will be a joyful, colourful celebration of the diverse activities and people that make our community centre so special. From dance and art, to wellbeing sessions and volunteering. We will be proudly showcasing the creativity, inclusivity, and spirit of Pendennis.

This is our first ever carnival entry, and it’s all thanks to the wonderful people of Falmouth who’ve helped make the centre what it is today. Your support, energy and love for our shared space truly brought this dream into reality, and now we get to celebrate that on the streets of our town! 💛

🌟 Why Carnival Matters 🌟

The Falmouth Carnival is more than just a fun summer event. It also raises money for local Cornish charities and community organisations. All donations collected during the parade will go to the Falmouth Marine Band, who hold a ballot in January to distribute funds based on nominations from Carnival entrants.

While we can’t collect for our own causes during the event, we’re proud to be part of something that gives back to the wider Cornish community.

♻️ Keeping It Green ♻️

We’re also doing our part to help the environment. Carnival organisers are encouraging all entrants and spectators to think sustainably, and we’re fully on board. Here’s what we’re doing:

• 🌱 Reusing and recycling materials to make costumes and props - many donated by our local community.

• 🚯 Avoiding single-use plastics and discouraging waste.

• 🚶‍♀️ Walking, car sharing and using public transport wherever possible.

Please remember:

🚫 No balloons (they’re harmful to marine life)

🚫 No single-use plastics

✅ Bring refillable water bottles and take rubbish home where possible

Even if you’re not walking in the parade, there are plenty of ways to support us:

• Come watch and cheer us on!

• Dance along as we pass by!

• Volunteer to help with collecting donations

• Spread the word - tell your friends and family to look out for Pendennis on parade!
